Meet our Partners
For nearly 30 years, Perry Hoffmeister has advised senior executives and Boards of Directors around the world on a range of strategic and financial issues.
As an M&A banker, he worked closely with public and private companies, private equity firms and hedge funds, advising on acquisitions, financings, mergers and public and private exits.
Following graduation from Brown University, Perry joined Lehman Brothers in investment banking. His career took him to London where he was co-head of European Investment Banking and ultimately head of the firm’s European Investment Management Division. There he was responsible for asset management, private equity, hedge fund of funds, and wealth management operations for the region. Most recently at BMO Capital Markets, Perry held several senior roles, including Global Head of Investment & Corporate Banking and Head of the Investment & Corporate Banking Risk Committee. He was ultimately responsible for all of the division’s risks, including its ~$40 billion loan book, debt and equity underwriting commitments, private equity portfolio and mezzanine loan business.
Perry brings a deep global understanding of capital markets, risk, M&A and private equity to the clients of Colter Lewis.
Perry is a member of the Board of Trustees of Blythedale Children’s Hospital, where he also serves on the investment and finance committees. He also serves on the Endowment Investment Committee for Christ Church Greenwich.
Jeffrey Weiss’ thirty-five year tenure in the financial services industry has provided him with an in-depth knowledge of trading, risk management, capital raising, capital structures, relationships with investors and businesses, and building strong management teams.
Jeff joined Lehman Brothers in 1983 following graduation from University of Wisconsin – Madison. During his twenty-five year career with the firm, he held global leadership positions in both the Fixed Income and Investment Banking divisions, serving on both groups’ executive committees. The division he ultimately led, Global Finance, was responsible for creating, structuring and distributing all financial products, globally. Following Lehman Brothers, Jeff spent three years at Barclays Capital running the firm’s Global Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group.
Jeff parlayed his decades-long experience structuring products and underwriting transactions to managing a single-family office. He specializes in investing globally across asset classes, including real estate equity and debt, mezzanine and structured debt, venture capital, and private equity. This venture led him to partner with longtime friend and colleague, Perry Hoffmeister, to found Colter Lewis.
Jeff is the lead independent director and audit committee chair at Eagle Point Credit Company (NYSE: ECC). A committed volunteer and philanthropist, he has been a member of the board of City Harvest for nearly fifteen years, holding its Treasurer position for eight, and has also been funding immunotherapy research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, among other world-class health care institutions.
Josh Neuman has over 20 years of investment experience as a CIO allocating across asset classes and selecting managers as well as direct private equity and real estate investment experience as a private equity practitioner.
Josh was previously the Chief Investment Officer of Ironshore, Inc., a global specialty property and casualty insurance company. Prior to joining Ironshore, Josh was the Chief Investment Officer of the Straus Group, a single-family office. Previously, Josh was a Managing Director of Irving Place Capital (formerly Bear Stearns Merchant Banking), a middle market private equity firm where he focused on making control investments in companies. Mr. Neuman also worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in the Real Estate Merchant Banking and Leveraged Finance groups. Mr. Neuman holds an M.B.A., with high distinction as a George F. Baker Scholar, from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Colter Lewis, Charles Coe was Vice President of Finance and Strategy of Octane Lending, a New York City based fintech startup, where he was responsible for leading the capital markets team.
Before Octane, Charles was a Private Equity Associate at Eureka Equity Partners. At Eureka, a private equity firm focused on investing in and building niche-market leaders at the lower end of the middle market, Charles was responsible for evaluating direct equity investment opportunities, constructing financial models, and monitoring existing portfolio companies. Charles was also an investment banker in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group of Bank of America Merrill Lynch and began his career in Goldman Sachs’ Urban Investment Group.
Charles graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A in Economics and Urban Studies.
Charles also serves as a Vice Chair of the Blythedale Children’s Hospital Advisory Council Executive Committee.
Kerry Walker has more than 15 years of experience in financial services and capital markets.
Prior to joining Colter Lewis, Ms. Walker spent seven years at Cheyne Capital, an alternative asset manager / hedge fund, where she was the research analyst for the directional convertible securities fund. Prior to Cheyne, she worked in the private wealth management departments of both Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Ms. Walker graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a BA in Psychology and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Jake Fields is a former research analyst focused on macroeconomic analysis and market risk.
Jake started his career at TD Ameritrade as an analyst responsible for mitigating any negative impacts that macro factors may have had on the firm’s margin loan book. Prior to completing his undergraduate degree, Jake held summer analyst positions at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and GAMCO Investors, Inc. Jake holds a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Cornell University where he studied finance and natural resources. He is a 2020 Level III candidate in the CFA Program.
